The US Olympic Greco Roman Wrestling Team is currently in Baku, Azerbaijan where they are just beginning a three-week training camp to sharpen up their skills and move forward in the peaking process. It’s a whole lot of live wrestling, some conditioning, and downtime whenever they can grab some. For this first week they’re in Baku, a place all-too-familiar with the US team from various tournaments (including the 2007 World Championships) and other such training opportunities. From Baku they are moving onto Goygol, a scenic locale with beautiful lakes and shrubbery. But of course, they will be spending more time on the mats than they likely will exploring.
Even still, the boys are enjoying their collective time out there. And just for the occasion, US National Team Head Coach Matt Lindland was kind enough to send some photos from over there so the rest of us can see how they’re doing.
We will have more photos and updates as camp progresses. In addition, there should also be an all-new “Coach Lindland’s Report” coming up. So keep it here for more cool insider perspectives and other stuff from the US Greco Roman Olympic Team as they dial up their training for Rio!
