The first day of the 2017 Greco World Championships saw three of the four US Greco-Roman wrestlers come up with wins in their first bouts but fall short later on. Only G’Angelo Hancock (98 kg, Sunkist, world no. 16) had more than two matches, as he advanced to the repechage round, falling to Iran’s Seyedmostafa Salehizadeh (world no. 17). We’re covering these performances as well as taking a peek at what’s in store tomorrow for the second day of the 2017 Greco Worlds as Team USA goes to battle with the remaining four — Ildar Hafizov (59 kg, Army/WCAP), Ellis Coleman (66 kg, Army/WCAP), Cheney Haight (80 kg, NYAC), and Robby Smith (130 kg, NYAC).
