Wednesday morning ushered in the start of the third day for US Seniors at the Suples Wrestling Club in Boise, Idaho. New York Athletic club coach and US National Team staff member Herb House has been providing updates — and earlier this afternoon, a series of photos were also included.
On Tuesday, we released insights from three top-level athletes present at the camp: Sammy Jones (60 kg, NYAC/NTS), Nolan Baker (67 kg, NYAC), and G’Angelo Hancock (97 kg, Sunkist, world #8). Also in the mix are ’18 World Team member RaVaughn Perkins (77 kg, NYAC) and three-time World Teamer Patrick Martinez (87 kg, NYAC/FLWC). In addition, the Seniors are working alongside a collection of age-group wrestlers under Suples founder/coach Ivan Ivanov’s charge, making for a unique, energetic environment.
When asked about the degree of enthusiasm he has witnessed thus far, House called it “great”, and went on to add, “this is an opportunity for these guys to work with the Junior development program, which helps bring confidence to the Junior athletes.”
House also reported that Wednesday was on the intensive side of things, with live wrestling and athletes getting pushed more than previously as they work themselves back into shape. It is expected that will be the case on Thursday, as well. Friday is set to be the final day of the Boise camp before most break out of Idaho sometime on Saturday.
