As you (should) know by now, the 2017 USA Greco-Roman Senior World Team just started their “Base Training Camp” in Eagle Creek, Oregon this week. The two-week stay in Oregon is designed to provide a cardiovascular foundation for the more intensive parts of the training phase leading up to the 2017 World Championships, set for August in Paris, France. Of course, another element to the camp is team-building, ever a vital component to any successful endeavor.

Team USA was getting some reps in at Team Quest in Portland, the famed training facility that US National Team head coach Matt Lindland founded to prepare for his career as an MMA fighter. KGW8 News, the NBC affiliate for Portland, showed up and recorded two segments of the guys getting some drilling in. When you watch the videos, you’ll instantly recognize all of the faces. G’Angelo Hancock (98 kg, NYAC, world no. 18) performs a big bodylock on Mason Manville (75 kg, Army/WCAP) to demonstrate to the audience was a takedown in Greco looks like. In addition, today, May 17th, is Coach Matt Lindland’s birthday, and that is recognized by the interviewer in the second clip.

The 2017 USA Greco-Roman Senior World Team will be at Team Quest again on Saturday as the hosts of a clinic for local wrestlers and martial artists.

There are two segments for you to feast your eyes on. Enjoy!
